PREDICTIONS: THE YEAR 2014

We will record an album at Volume IV with some mean dude named Buckets.
We will release an album titled "Yell Boss."
We will have Allison Pense take pictures of us while Marissa tells us to "look sadder."
We will have Marissa do art for said album.
We will play the Music Hall of Williamsburg on Feb 8th with brick mower, Screaming Females, Priests and California X.
We will practice.
We will be best friends with all our favorite celebrities.
We will learn how to make more interesting lists.
We will tour the ENTIRE US with our buds brick mower.
We will drink fancy beer and be snobby about it.
We will also drink crappy beer when we are on tour because we cannot afford fancy beer.

oooh.  that list gave me chills, man.

There are things. And there are MORE things.

Hey so I wanted to quickly tell you guys about shows and happenings and whatnot.

First off...'member how we were gonna have a Halloween 7" ready for this Halloween? Well unfortunately we couldn't make it happen. The reason why is that no matter how early we recorded it and had it ready with art and stuff...we would just never be able to get it out in time for this October because apparently the turnaround for pressing records is incredibly slow right now.

BUT! We are still going to record it, possibly on the actual night of Halloween just to add to the actual creepiness! And then next Halloween it'll be out for real. So still gonna happen, just not this year.

ALSO!! We are writing our next LP and hoping to record it this winter...and Brian Buckets is gonna do the damn thing! The Volume IV space is fucking awesome. We're stoked. As heck.

Heres some shows that you should come to:

Sept 5th at the Asbury Lanes with the AMAZING PSYCHIC TEENS FROM PHILLY! Also our besties brick mower and the rad Knights Templar will be there. yay-uh!

Sept 7th at Boyd Park in New Brunswick (an outdoor event that will feel like its some weird euro
festival) with California X (which look like a band of Evan Dandos...I'm going to try and convince them to change their name to "band o' dandos") again our favorites brick mower and our local heroes Screaming Females.

What is it like being the "mosh" instigator?

WHATS UP EVERYONE? OH GOOD!

So...We have a few things to tell you. First: Your life is a lie. Wait I'm sorry...

OK lets start over: WE ARE RECORDING AGAIN IN LATE SUMMER! We are in the process of learning some cover songs that chill us (and hopefully you) to the damn CORE. And then we are going to release them as a Hallowe'en 7 inch. Yes, it is cool. We thought so too.

AND THEN MORE RECORDING. The 4th LP is in being written and hopefully will be released by next spring. We are super excited and hope you are too.

Here's some shows that we have coming up in July and August!

Also this summer we are going to be touring out to CHICAGO AND BACK, and TO GEORGIA AND BACK. Probably OTHER PLACES AND BACK too.

Biggest news is us trying to get to the UK in Jan 2014. Someone out there likes us and that is more than enough reason for us.

I promise to be better at this!

New album and tour with Brick Mower!

Hey there! We recorded a new record called "Hollow Earth" this past Spring (well, earlier in this current Spring) which will be out July 3rd on Don Giovanni Records. We have a song from it up here:  Black Wine-Flatland

We're also going on tour with Brick Mower in July. It's going to be most of the US, though we will be skipping the Southeast, which is a bit of a disappointment to all of the humidity enthusiasts that are in both bands. brick mower weekend 1/7 thru 1/9

best time!! we love this band so much. there were a few surreal doppleganger moments that blew my mind, but that only enhanced my appreciation of the good times!!

philly (the banana stand) was friday night and after wrestling with the fact that our van was indeed NOT FIXED we decided to just take the car. which wound up being fine and less expensive in the long run. we played in the smokiest basement of all time. we opened the door and there was a cloud of smoke like someone had recently done some sort of magic trick. kristen mower astutely noted that "there was a lot of smoke, but...no one was smoking." so it just hung there ominously for no reason. we missed most of the bands including brick mower because of van troubles. everyone at the banana stand was very nice though. afterwards we hung out with perry and jarrett and their cool roommates. and nacho, the greatest cat (besides all my cats past and present) that ever lived.

we played baltimore on saturday at the new charm city art space. which ruled btw. before the show we had the opportunity to bore dan bress almost to tears. he told us some good stories about being nude in the hopes of animating us dolts but failed miserably. hes a good guy and everyone in the free world finds him attractive. the show itself was really amazing: crimes are a new fave for sure. their songs were well written and very driven. jake from backpocket is the drummer and a fine one at that. exciting and solid. brick mower of course were so awesome. their songs are catchy, delivered in a really genuine way, and are a really great representation of their personalities. it feels personal, in other words.
head home as always displayed their prodigious musical talent through well put together and exciting songs. they're a sweet blend of several excellent bands.

sunday night was home with the always crazy rso (playing their last nj show) and young leaves (amazing dudes with amazing tunes from mass.) another great show! sheesh! marissa female and joe steinhardt were there as well. it was fun to play for them in a basement. i feel like i see them only at big shows as of late. this was more relaxed and fun. marissa made fun of me for talking a lot to rso during their set. fair enough. i can be loud sometimes :)

i wanna say 2 more things: 1) I love new brunswick for the fact that the ladies participate actively and are genuine in their support of one another and also other females getting in on it and participating. I cannot say that this is always how its been, but its how it is now and I fucking appreciate the SHIT out if it. It makes me euphoric. So thanks, buds!!
2) brick mower feel like bffs. like we should play lots of shows together and be a thing. its just cool is all. and i wanted to say it!

many hearts,
miranda
